about

A new remix and reworking of "The Snap” from the Civilization and Its Discotheques album with the late Paul Lacques (of Double Naught Spy Car and I See Hawks in L.A.), who graciously laid down the lap steel guitar part a couple of years ago.

lyrics

I once met a girl who had deep-sunken eyes
She couldn't get snapped, so she gave up and died

And I hear those voices in the air
Floating down like ashes everywhere

I heard about some lucky woman who snapped
They found a small chamber where her love slaves were trapped

I prowled through the night with a coroner's eye
Into dark little rooms where a coward could hide

And I hear those voices in the air
Floating down like ashes everywhere
I hear those voices in the air
Someone snapped somehow, somewhere

And I'm waiting for the snap I'm waiting for the snap

The groping and trembling of lovers in heat
Descending a staircase with contracts of meat
Chipping the marble off tyrants and prudes
They've got to keep moving like sharks hunting food

And I hear those voices in the air
Ancient voices chanting off somewhere
My body feels like a sack of lead
Waiting for that snap inside my head

And I'm waiting for the snap
Waiting for the snap
I'm waiting for the snap
I'm waiting for the snap
